ROYAL DIAMOND
After showcasing South African diamonds at a centenary diamond auction in Hong Kong, which generated diamond sales 55 times more than previous South African exhibitions, it became apparent that the commercial influence and impact of the prestigious Royal House of Mandela on the international diamond trade was an opportunity for South Africa that could not, and should not, be passed up.
And so, Mandela Royal Diamond, a South African company, was forged.
OUR VISION
The vision of Mandela Royal Diamond is to foster the growth of Black-owned businesses in diamond sector, which has traditionally excluded B-BBEE participants.
As much as the Royal House Of Mandela has one of the most recognised and entrenched legacies in South Africa, it's commitment to the development and enablement of future generations remains as clear as the diamonds it trades.
Mandela Royal Diamond is determined to expose the Black owned diamond sector to more global opportunities, by hosting annual auctions in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, New York and other global metropolitan hubs of the international diamond trade.
OUR OBJECTIVES
We will enable Black entrepreneurs, cutters and polishers to sell their diamonds and services internationally.
We will serve as the collective entity that intends to maximise the 10% run of mine diamonds, which as per regulatory mandate, is allocated for B-BBEE participants.
We will optimise the capabilities of the state diamond traders.
We will produce more qualified Black cutters and polishers which will create a more inclusive diamond sector, through the formation of the Mandela Royal Diamond College.
